The Art of Olive Oil and Balsamic

Olivette is a distinctive tasting room located in Darien showcasing the freshest Extra Virgin Olive Oils (EVOO), Gourmet Specialty Oils and Balsamic Vinegars.

Olivette is committed to always having the freshest and highest quality Extra Virgin Olive Oils available. Whether it will be oils from Northern Hemisphere countries like Italy, Greece, Spain and Portugal or oils from Southern Hemisphere countries like Chile, Argentina and Australia, we constantly update our selections to represent the geographic locations producing the very freshest oils. Quality EVOO should always have a high polyphenol count and a high oleic acid level along with a low free fatty acid level and low peroxide level. Olivette carefully selects our olive oils with these criteria in mind, and we proudly display this “chemical data” on every EVOO label in the store.

All  of our Balsamic Vinegars are superior in quality and contain all natural ingredients. There are no added sugars or artificial flavors. They are all aged in the traditional Solera Method and imported from Modena, Italy.  Our Dark Balsamics have and acidity level of 4%, and our White Balsamics have an acidity level of 5.5%.

When you visit Olivette, you can taste over 50 varieties of oil and vinegar on display in gleaming Italian fustis. Each oil and vinegar is “on tap,” so after you taste and decide on what you like, your selections are freshly poured, corked and sealed right in the store. We are always happy to answer your questions and make recommendations. We also offer pairing suggestions to help further inspire your selections.

Olivette also carries a full line of gourmet items like fresh Artisanal Bread, Local Honey, Exotic Sea Salts, Olives, Chocolates, Preserves, Jams  and Sauces. We also offer skincare products and home décor items.

Whether you are planning a dinner party, searching for the perfect epicurean gift or just looking to bring bold and bright new flavors into your kitchen, Olivette has something that will surely inspire you.  Olivette is available for private tastings and private parties. We also offer custom wedding favors, gifts and baskets.

Olivette is committed to being environmentally friendly, so we encourage our customers to reuse and refill our bottles. We ask that you bring them to us clean and dry (they clean very well in the dishwasher) in order to receive a $1.00 discount per each clean bottle you refill.
